There are so many people and voices in your life that may feel overwhelming in this season, so it is important that your wedding party doesn't contribute to that. I wanted to put a lot of thought into who would be in my wedding party and what role they would play. It was important to me that these friends would truly support, celebrate, and stand by me on the day. Each girl I asked brings something special, whether that be a sense of calm, trust, energy, or positivity. I have AMAZING people in my life who are incredibly supportive and have celebrated me so well, so this was really hard. Even though I couldn't ask everyone to be apart of my wedding party, I am still celebrating with them in special ways throughout this season!
5 things to think about when you are considering your wedding party:
Who do you want to be surrounded by in this season and on your wedding day? Take time before asking your friends. See how friends react and support you in this time, and evaluate the friendship!
Think through all the seasons you’ve had in your life. Who has been in your life through the good and the bad? I personally chose one person per season that made a big impact on my life and has witnessed my relationship with my fiance.
Does you or your fiance have any siblings you feel close enough to include?
How many girls do you want to be apart of your wedding day without feeling too overwhelmed? You will be spending LOTS of time surrounded by however many people you choose. I personally knew I would feel overstimulated if there were 8-10 girls with me the entire day, so I chose to have a smaller bridal party. I am still including a bigger group of girls to celebrate each event with! Keep in mind you also do not have to have the same number or people as your fiance.
How do you want to feel and experience your wedding day? Who is going to reflect that? In the end, you need someone who will be there to bring you joy and put you first!
If you can be honest with yourself after thinking through these aspects, you will surround yourself with an intentional group of people who will purposefully meet your needs and help you have the wedding day of your dreams! Once you decide on who you want to ask, then you need to decide on how!

The Proposal Box
I want to break down the cost, items, and significance of a bridesmaid proposal box. I think something that I struggled with initially was the cost, and all the stuff!! A wedding really harps on consumerism and I didn’t necessarily want to buy a lot of stuff that would just go to waste. While bridesmaid proposal boxes are not necessary, they do make a bridesmaid feel super special.
I racked my brain around what would be special, meaningful, and something they could reuse again and again regardless of the wedding. Here is what I came up with:
Boxes ($5)
Go to Etsy!! They have great options and are almost always on sale. I chose a black box with a black ribbon because it fit the wedding aesthetic. However, I did not pay to have it personalized. Now they can reuse the box if they want or use it in a decorative way.

A picture of the two of you, as well as the question, "Will you be my bridesmaid?" I designed these on Canva and printed them myself.
Letter (FREE)
I wanted to express how much I value their friendship, memories and why I want them to stand by me on my special day.
Color Swatch ($2)
I loved that this was a nod to the aesthetic of the wedding, as well as what they would be wearing!
Shawl ($10)
My wedding is going to be in the fall, so I thought a shawl would be a nice touch for photos or to wear in between photos to keep them warm.
Lip Gloss ($20)
A beauty product is a fun and easy addition. I personalized the color/product to what I thought each bridesmaid would truly love!
Jewelry ($20)
I chose a specific piece of jewelry for each girl that I thought they would cherish and could wear for the wedding. I bought each girl either earrings, or a necklace based on what they tend to wear day to day and really thought through their style.
Wedding Day Makeup
This cost will vary based on your vendor. I hired a professional hair and makeup vendor for my wedding day and while it can be a lot to ask each girl to pay for their hair and makeup, I thought I would treat them to getting their makeup professionally done. I want them to look and feel their best for lifelong pictures of the special day.
